The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and the Jordan Green Building Council (JordanGBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the fields of training and green and sustainable economic development projects, in what is in the interest of both parties and intersects with their goals and national visions.
This MoU includes an exchange of experiences and meaningful joint work, and working together in preparing and implementing development projects within the industrial, commercial and service sectors aimed at promoting the growth of the green economy to achieve the goals of sustainable development in Jordan, as well as working together on preparing and implementing scientific studies and research related to sustainable & green industrial sectors. exchange information and technical expertise; This contributes to the sustainability of natural resources and the promotion of optimal and sustainable use of resources, with the aim of preserving the environment and promoting the social and economic development of local communities in Jordan, and other areas of cooperation.
The memorandum was signed by Mr. Abdel-Fattah Al-Kayed, Executive Director of the JEDCO, and Mr. Raji Hattar, Chairman of JordanGBC, and in the presence of Eng. Mamoun Abu Shawer, Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at JEDCO, and in the presence of Dr. Bassam Al-Zoubi, Chairman of the Membership and Communication Committee and member of the Board of Directors, and Eng. Ghayda’ Salameh, Project Coordinator from JordanGBC.
Mr. Abdel-Fattah Al-Kayed said that the vision of economic modernization and the strategic plan of the institution places the transition towards a green economy at the top of the list of priorities in order to raise the quality of the product and its conformity with international concepts. This memorandum comes with the aim of cooperation with various institutions and agencies to support the trend towards this field.
Mr. Raji Hattar expressed his pleasure with this cooperation, indicating that this MoU is in line with the goals and visions of the JordanGBC and his aspirations to work together and exchange experiences with the JEDCO, with the aim of promoting the growth of the green economy, and working on training and qualifying national expertise on best practices related to green and circular economy.
It is noteworthy that the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) is working on implementing a variety of development programs targeting different sectors in the fields of manufacturing, services, agricultural industry, etc. These programs are designed to adapt Jordanian products to international needs, by providing technical and financial support.
