Ammar Nahya - Board Member

Ammar is the senior vice president of JAIN Consultants International. A Canadian Engineering Consulting firm specializing in Intelligent Green Building Solutions. He graduated from southern Illinois University in the USA. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Association of Ontario (PEO), British Columbia (APEG) AND Jordan (JEA). He became a LEED AP in 2005. Mr. Nahya is the founder of JAIN Consultants International in Jordan and the managing partner in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. He has been involved in several LEED® Certified projects in North America and the Middle East. He played a major role in promoting sustainability with developers and designers in Canada, China, Jordan and UAE.
Mr. Nahya has worked with several municipalities in North America and China to help in defining bylaws & Regulation related to green building design. He has designed projects that were awarded financial grants from Natural Resources Canada and Utility companies in North America. These projects included systems such as Geothermal Heat Pumps, Ice Storage, Solar Energy …etc. Some of these projects were developed by clients such as University of British Columbia, Guelph Hydro, Brock University, Sir Sanford Fleming College and others.
Mr. Nahya now plays a major role in promoting sustainability in Jordan by offering seminars and lectures to increase awareness within private and public sectors of the social & environmental impacts of adapting green building design standards.
Mr. Nahya is one of the Jordan Green Building Council founding board members; he is also the Head of the Education Committee. Ammar has recently become a LEED® Faculty with a score that represents excellence in both effort and execution. Ammar’s presentations incorporated new ideas and techniques. He was one of the best “facilitators” in the program.
